I got a real kick out of this e-mail, I hope you will too!

I am from Edinburgh Scotland. I love your cat pages, I also adore cats so much. I have my own pet cat 'Sooty' He is a real gem, really mad most of the time, he's 12 years old and he still thinks he's a kitten (acts like one all the time) I thought I'd share a picture of him with you, I think he's fab, I love everything about this mad cat!

I have been a cat lover since birth. When I was 4 years old, my dad took me to the shelter and bought my first cat. A beautiful Burmese, short haired gray cat with the most beautiful green eyes. She was my life. A traumatic experience I will never forget, led me to a prize winning story for a cat food contest. When as child, I lived out on Long Island where there were many wild dogs, perhaps ones that people dumped off as pups. They traveled in packs and were quite intimidating. One day they saw my dad coming home and followed him to the front door. My dad was breathless as he rushed to open the front door to safety. As always Crystal (my cat) was waiting for him on the stairs. She saw what was happening and jump off the stairs onto one of the dogs back, and attacked him clawing wildly. The dog cried leaving the seen in shame, and we never had a problem with dogs again. Crystal became our hero! She would even lick my cheek, upon request.
God rest her soul!
Kim
